  • Can men attend this event?
Absolutely. Whilst the majority of the audience is female, men are more than welcome.
  • Can my teenager attend this event?
This is up to your discretion as some of the topics and content can be rather hard hitting. I also can not guarantee that there wont be the odd swear word in the speakers presentation.
  • Do you stream this event?
Unfortunately we are not able to stream this event due to the potentially triggering content. Peoples safety is important to us, which is why we have support services available on site at the event.
  • Why are the snacks served at the end of the event?
The snacks are intentionally served at the end of the night. This encourages mingling and provides an opportunity for those needing support to stay longer without drawing attention.
  • How does the Q&A session work?
During the evening people are able to submit questions via Facebook, Instagram or text message. These are provided to the MC and they ask these questions on your behalf. This is done anonymously and the questions are not edited.
  • How do people apply to be a speaker?
Easy, just send me a message or email (moira@idoforyou.co.nz). We will then have a chat (in person or online) and I will add you to the database. If speaking in front of a crowd is too much then you can also apply to be a guest on the PlainsFM radio show. This show is then added to podcast platforms. You can see the list of episodes here.
  • How do you select your speakers?
For me, it's about achieving the right balance of topics and experience, including giving novice speakers a chance on stage. I strive to avoid repeating the same subjects each year while ensuring that new applicants have the opportunity to speak.
